DERRY, N.H. – June 11, 2019 – How can teachers provide game-like fun and competition while promoting STEM and diverse participation in coding? On Thursday, June 20, CoderZ will host an interactive webinar on how robotics competitions can effectively engage students in STEM. The presenter will be Robin Corbeil, a technology and computer teacher at Litchfield Middle School, which won second place in New Hampshire’s 2018  Cyber Robotics Coding Competition (CRCC) and received the Grace Hopper Award for highest female participation.

During the webinar, Corbeil will share her first-hand experiences participating in the CRCC and how this innovative robotics tournament excites and engages students in coding. Using real-life examples, Corbeil will illustrate how teachers can implement new, innovative tools in the classroom to help students reach higher levels of engagement and prepare for the future. Attendees will be able to ask questions to learn more about the connection between STEM and competitions like CRCC, and gain insights and lessons learned from a teacher who is an expert in robotics competitions.

“Robotics coding competitions are a fun and highly effective way to encourage students to get involved in STEM and promote core values like diversity, school spirit, and academic progress. This webinar will provide a great opportunity for educators to learn more about how to make coding, programming, and robotics accessible to all students through robotics tournaments like the CRCC. Even better, they can learn from a teacher who is already having great success doing so,” said Ido Yerushalmi, founder of the CRCC and CEO of CoderZ. “This webinar will provide valuable insights for teachers who may be thinking about having their students enter a robotics competition for the first time as well as those looking to take their participation to the next level.”

There is no cost to join the webinar, but registration is required. For more information go to: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7668849911429016076?source=PR.
