Diving Into Data Workshop 2023

Using data smartly fuels powerful education reporting, from tracking how school districts spend extra federal dollars to following student financial aid applications. Ready to take your data skills and savvy to a new level? 

Apply now for EWA’s Diving Into Data Workshop. Participants will receive intensive, hands-on training from data coaches – veteran journalists adept at analyzing and reporting with education data. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced, the coaches will meet you where you are. Each participating journalist must come with a specific reporting project in mind and a data set. The workshop offers tracks for Excel, SQL and R.  

The first in-person training in two years, the workshop will run from late afternoon on Friday, Feb. 10 to 1 p.m. Pacific on Monday, Feb. 13. EWA member journalists can attend for free. Additionally, EWA covers most of the travel and three hotel nights. (If you’re not a member, apply today.)
