The federal government provided nearly $200 billion to schools for COVID-19 pandemic relief, giving states and districts a unique opportunity to fuel education recovery. As districts navigate the later stages of spending this money, where are these funds going? What resources, programs and interventions have been bolstered, and what could use more funding? How do journalists new(er) to the topic jump into this issue?

Join the Education Writers Association on Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. Eastern for a webinar offering tips on how to cover Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding.

The webinar will dive into what national trends illustrate about allocations for federal relief dollars. Speakers will share how states are prioritizing their portion of these funds. There will also be a moderated Q&A for journalists looking to take story ideas back to their newsrooms. Reporters will receive important national context and comparisons to help them better cover the story.
