Dorie Turner Nolt is a communications consultant known nationwide for her work with education organizations, nonprofits, and school districts.

She helps her clients craft narratives about what they do—and most importantly—how they help students. Dorie served as press secretary and a key communication strategist in the Obama Administration for U.S. Education Secretaries Arne Duncan and John B. King Jr.; previously she worked for the Georgia Department of Education.

As a recovering journalist, including six years as a national education reporter for The Associated Press and five years at the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Dorie knows the importance of connecting reporters with organizations doing incredible work.

A native of Memphis and proud University of Tennessee alum, Dorie is the daughter of a lifelong educator and a professional clown. Dorie lives in Washington, D.C., with her tech startup husband, son and a very tiny dog. She spends her spare time volunteering with the Parent Teacher Organization at her son’s elementary school and conquering jigsaw puzzles.
