Kimberly Hefling is a vice president at GMMB focused on strategic communications in support of improving education quality and access for all. 

A veteran communicator and media relations expert, she joined GMMB after more than 20 years as a journalist for two major news organizations, The Associated Press and POLITICO. Kimberly previously was the senior education writer at POLITICO, where her work included writing about federal and state early childhood, K-12 and higher education issues and serving as an author of the Morning Education newsletter. 

During her 18 years at The Associated Press, she wrote about issues that ranged from education to Pennsylvania politics and military homefront issues. She also served as an embedded reporter in Iraq and Afghanistan traveling with the 101st Airborne Division. 

Whether it’s developing and executing a strategy to ensure key audiences are reached with a compelling call to action or elevating the perspectives of critical stakeholders, Kimberly delivers results for the causes and people she supports.
