Shalin Jyotishi

Shalin Jyotishi is the founding managing director of the Future of Work & Innovation Economy initiative at the think tank New America. He also serves as a Forbes contributor and as visiting faculty in science & technology policy at Arizona State University. 

Jyotishi is a researcher, writer, and strategist specializing in the intersection of higher education, science, workforce, and industrial policy. A seasoned industry analyst, Jyotishi’s expertise on the impact of emerging technologies on education, labor, the economy, and the workforce has appeared in USA Today, Fast Company, NPR, Financial Times, and Politico, and on stages at Davos, the United Nations, and SXSW. 

Shalin previously served as CEO & managing publisher of the Journal of Science Policy & Governance, held policy positions at the American Association for the Advancement of Science, World Economic Forum, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, and the University of Michigan. 

His service contributions include serving on advisory boards for the MIT Science Policy Review, the UN International Telecommunications Union, George Washington University’s Institute for Public Policy, Strada Education Foundation’s CredLens, the International Economic Development Council, Georgetown University’s Center for Security and Emerging Technologies, and the Bipartisan Policy Center. 

He earned his B.S. from the University of Georgia and his M.S. from Arizona State University and served as a university innovation fellow at Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design.
