José Martínez

José Martínez is a bilingual Emmy Award–winning journalist, strategic communications specialist, and author. He currently anchors and reports for 69 News in Pennsylvania, delivering primetime stories in both English and Spanish that center community voices and local impact.

He has worked for CBS News Bay Area, NY1 Noticias, and El Diario de Nueva York, covering education, immigration, equity, and policy from the ground up. José is the founder of VOZ NYC, a multimedia platform that amplifies Latino voices through storytelling, merchandise, and independent publishing.

In 2025, he published his debut book, “Your English is Great, But…,” a memoir-in-essays about language, identity, and belonging. He is also the creator of Café con José, a digital column and talk series blending journalism with cultural reflection. 

José is a proud member of EWA and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ).
