Maura Turcotte

Program Specialist

Maura Turcotte is a program specialist for the Education Writers Association. She helps develop and deliver programs and training opportunities to support education journalists across the country. 

She previously worked as a reporter covering issues in South Carolina’s schools for The Post and Courier’s Education Lab team, and before that, at The New York Times as a news assistant for the Pulitzer Prize-winning coronavirus-tracking project. Her reporting has also appeared in The Associated Press, The Washington Post and other national outlets.

She has bachelor’s degrees in English and political science from Santa Clara University and a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University.
