Naomi Harris

Naomi Harris is the content manager for the Education Writers Association. She helps coordinate and plan EWA’s programmatic work. 

Naomi previously worked as a higher education reporter for Open Campus, a nonprofit news outlet. She joined the national reporting staff in 2021 and focused her coverage on race and equity in higher education. 

She has reported for PublicSource in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; The Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland; and other newspapers. Naomi has covered higher education, K-12 education and public health. Her articles have been published in The Washington Post, The Associated Press and other national outlets. 

Naomi graduated with a dual bachelor’s degree in journalism and anthropology at the University of Maryland.
