Learn About a Handy New Free Education Data Tool

About

There’s tons of education data out there, but it is spread out among dozens of different confusing websites, making it hard to use quickly and easily.

The Urban Institute is trying to address that by creating a centralized K-16 education data one-stop-shop that a few journalistic early adopters tell us is turning out to be fairly handy.

In this webinar you will learn how to quickly pull numbers on everything from the finances and enrollments of your community’s school districts to the student loan repayment rates of local colleges using the new Education Data Explorer.

The webinar features one of the Urban Institute’s data and policy experts who walk you through their education data tools, and suggest the kinds of questions they can answer. Also, a reporter demonstrates how he’s used the tool’s higher education data to find stories, and helps you brainstorm ways you can do your own data-informed reporting.

This webinar was presented on January 16, 2020.
