Ready to Lead: Covering The Next Generation of School Principals

Behind every good teacher is a good principal, research shows. How can school districts make sure they have the right leaders in place? Too many school districts have haphazard ways of recruiting and nurturing potential principals. But some districts are trying new ways to cultivate school leadership and a new report by Policy Studies Associates for the Wallace Foundation shows what works – and what doesn’t. Education Week also examined school leadership in a special report, and reporters from the project will share questions to consider when writing your own stories on these important issues.

Presentations:

(Part 1) Denisa Superville, Education Week

(Part 2) Brenda Turnbull, Policy Studies Associates

(Part 3) MaryEllen Elia, Hillsborough County

(Part 4) Q&A and Story Ideas
