The Education Writers Association (EWA) closes Jan. 9 in honor of the late Former President Jimmy Carter.
Prior to his term as the 39th President of the United States, Carter attended public schools, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1946, served in the Navy, and entered state politics. His humanitarian work focused on the advancement of democracy and human rights, as well as the promotion of economic and social development.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., EWA observes the National Day of Mourning for Jimmy Carter. Staff will return emails and calls when they return to the office on Jan. 10.
