The 2024 Nation’s Report Card – or the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) – will be released in early 2025.
The Education Writers Association will hold a webinar on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern to help reporters plan nuanced coverage of results for grades 4 and 8 in reading and math by nation, state, and urban district. Also, learn about NAEP’s new data tools on chronic absenteeism, a new socioeconomic status index, and updates to other online data tools.
Expert speakers will explain the fundamentals of NAEP, its uses and misuses, and offer ideas on how to tell more stories with the data. They will offer guidance on second-day stories, such as unpacking subgroup results by race, ethnicity, gender, English-language learners, and other categories.
